There's no easy way to talk about the loss of a child. The Starling, a new film starring Melissa McCarthy, tackles just that. It presents a heartbreaking reality many face- the tragic, overwhelming, and uncomfortable parts of grief.
In honor of The Starling and October being Infant Loss Awareness Month, we have partnered with Melissa McCarthy to donate 100% of profits from our Rose Quartz Beaded Bracelets to Children's Hospital Los Angeles for the month.
As a brand that holds the connection of family as a core value, we are honored to be raising awareness for this cause. We are big fans of the talented and gracious Melissa McCarthy. When we heard Melissa was making a movie named "The Starling" we had a lofty goal of working with her in some capacity - how perfect of a name! When we learned about the story she was telling in this movie, it felt even more aligned. So often our content at Starling Jewelry focuses on moms, especially the joy of new moms, but we know telling stories of unimaginable heartache and loss are just as important as the happy ones. Jewelry is often used to mark life changing occasions - to hold close on your skin the ones you love dearest. We frequently hear from customers that are purchasing jewelry to remember a soul they have lost, it is the biggest honor to create those pieces.

About the Bracelets
We choose our Rose Quartz Bead Bracelets, because rose quartz is the stone of unconditional love and healing energy. A powerful gift to give, and wear. We chose these bracelets intentionally to represent radical self love through all that life may throw at us. These bracelets were originally a collaboration with our friend Jacqui Saldana of Baby Boy Bakery, in honor of self love and the bond of good girlfriends. Each bracelet is handmade in Los Angeles, adjustable to fit a range of sizes and strong enough for every day wear. The solid rose quartz bracelet is made with natural rose quartz beads and silk string. The navy and single rose quartz bead, is made with natural rose quartz, a solid 14k gold bead and navy nylon string.
About Children's Hospital Los Angeles
During the month of October, 100% off profits will be donated to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that relies on philanthropy to support the community providing compassionate patient care, leading-edge education and innovative research efforts that impact children at CHLA and around the world. I can personally vouch for the level of attention given at CHLA, having been there with my then 1 year old daughter in the emergency room last December. Under the care of the wonderful nurses and doctors at CHLA she recovered quickly!
