Loria Stern is a chef, caterer and the Founder of Loria's Cookies - cult level shortbread cookies with baked in flowers. Loria loves creating delicious and healthy foods using local, seasonal and highest quality ingredients. Her food is always full of eye-popping color and unforgettable taste and often, many of the herbs, edible flowers, fruits and vegetables that she uses in her dishes come from her home garden. We had such a lovely socially distance afternoon with Loria, admiring her garden, playing with our new Birth Flower Collection and Loria's collection of beautiful dried flowers and of course taste-testing some amazing cookies and some extra goodies from her latest catering event. Not going to say who, but it was someone spectacular's baby shower and dang was Loria's food excellent. Loria's jewelry is style is simple, mixed with layering favorites and lots of earrings.

WHAT DOES KEEPSAKE MEAN TO YOU?

To me, keepsake means something you keep forever and ever.  Right now, it's the starling band that I wear everyday and don't take off.  That is something I will keep forever and hope to pass down.

FIRST JEWELRY MEMORY?

Getting disco sequin globe clip on earrings for Xmas when I was 5 years old.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF JEWELRY?

I have two rings I love, one was gifted from my father and the other is my starling gold band :)

ANY JEWELRY RITUALS?

When I accomplish a goal or something miraculous happens, I buy myself a piece of everlasting jewelry to celebrate.

WHAT ARE YOUR EVERYDAY PIECES?

My Starling golden band, I can cook with it and it's so elegant, I also see it as a good luck charm.

FAVORITE ANTIQUE PIECE?

Yes, it's more play jewelry but it's a beaded black and white vintage piece passed down from my Grandma, she bought it on vacation in the 60s in Mexico.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST RECENT PIECE OF JEWELRY?

I recently purchased wooden hoops from friend Sophie Monet.

HOW MANY JEWELRY BOXES DO YOU OWN?

None!  I just have a hanging wire for necklaces and a little ramekin to hold small earrings and rings.

TELL US YOUR EAR PIERCING STORY!

This isn't the happiest story, lol!  I was 8 years old and my parents just got separated.  They were each trying to win the praise of their kids.  So my Dad took me to get one of my ears pierced because I had been begging both of them for years.  I'm not sure why he only got me one ear pierced.  Anyway, my Mom was super upset and then she took me to get my other ear pierced.  The holes are uneven, which use to bother me, now I don't care.

FAVORITE STARLING DESIGN?

I love the simple bands and the baby hoop earrings, such high quality gold and so thin and delicate.
